Summer Photo Notes-12 Runners-up
~Eastgate Clock, Chester
Eastgate, with Chester's famous Eastgate Clock on the bridge over the road. It was erected there to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897, and this date can be seen at the bottom of the clock face. It is said that only Big Ben in London has been photographed more than this clock. On the left is a traditional red GPO telephone box, which dates back to 1936. Many have been replaced by more modern designs, but the old boxes are still to be seen in cities like Chester.
